It seems the last week or so has been an almost continuous heavy deluge of rain, noisily overflowing the gutters and flooding the roads. Is this an omen to say I should stop current boat building and start work on an Ark instead? This looks to be in for at least 40 days.

Has been a total nightmare down here too. I came back from Sunny Scotland over a week ago with a slightly damp tent I need to dry out - that's not going to happen any time soon! :(

Saw a program on History Channel last week about the Ark, apparently it was no more than a giant coracle, which when you think about it makes more sense than the traditional view of a boat hull with a house on the top :-) They even built one 20ft in diameter in India to prove it could be done.

48mm of rain here today they say, with slightly more in one day less than a week ago, plus it seems to have been raining at lesser force for much of the time in between.
I can only assume that Rob McKenna (from Hitchhikers Guide) has been driving his lorry in this area all week.
