Title: 1/96 photo etched stanchions
Post by: Geoff on September 08, 2015, 02:07:18 pm
I just chased up an order for some John Haynes photo etched rails - naval type three bar equal spaced which have been on order for a few months only to be told JH is no longer taking orders on these and is not looking to do any more.

Bah, humbug, this leaves me with a problem as I am half way through my Iron Duke model and don't have enough stanchions to finish, so obvious questions:

1) Does any one know of another source of stanchions

2) Deans Marine do them but they are not equal spaced

3) Any one got any spare I can acquire?

Thanks and regards

Geoff

Hi Geoff. James Lane has RN stanchions in 1/96th scale. I have some from him in 1/48th. I can pass you his contact details, or a google search will bring results. Hope this helps. Phil

Were you looking for individual stanchions or etch rail sets?  Modelling Timbers has full round brass but they're expensive at 33p each.

You should still be able to get some John Haynes fittings through Westbournes, The stanchion are still showing on their website.

Thank you for your replies. Westbourne is where I ordered them but was told today they can't deliver becaue JH is no longer doing them. They were as suprised about this as I was as obviously they were anticipating fulfilment of existing orders.

Thanks

Thank you, but these are flat so are of the wrong style. Deans do some which are three bar but not even spaced but if necessary I may have to fall back on those.

Cheers

Hmm, they look interesting. Are they flat photo etched as they look to be just right, three bar even spaced?

Thanks

I've gone for these for my Corvette, look nice quality but as said above 33p each, but he will do a discount for a large(ish) order. Only bad thing is he won't be able to post them until the end of his month due to annual hols & a show. I'm ok as I won't need mine for a while  :-))
