After 6 years out of the water having the hull re plated the Steam Tug "Wattle" went back into the River Yarra this week.
They lifted the Wattle up, then backed this 96 wheel trailer under her,
then moved her out, where she sat for a few hours while they dismantled the cranes.
After moving everything a bit further down the river to their new home. They moved the Wattle as well.
After setting up the cranes the Wattle was moved in, then the truck and trailer moved out, by then it was dark so they set up lights and carried on.
She was swung over the river and lowered into the Yarra. Now the volunteers can spend the next 12 months to finish getting her seaworthy.
Can't wait to go out for a sail on this great little steam tug.
Deans have a kit for her.

Irreverent and a long distant memory from my early youth in Australia,
A rhyme that was going round in the 60's
Here we have the Wattle, the emblem of our land .
You can put it in a bottle , or hold it in your hand.
Amazing what pops into the mind from 50 odd years ago, when I can't remember what happened 2 days ago !
