Title: my cobble

well after just over a year my cobble is nearing completion.
my scratch built cobbeljust needs lights wiring in and the water proof gear made for the crew.
she sails very nice and looks the part on the water  has a sound unit fitted and runs on 6 volt 9ah battery that powers her for over 3 hours

she is 43in long and 10in wide. and is named after my mother Margaret Jane
so i thought i would post some pics of her for you guys and girls to enjoy.

What a corker - nice one Mick - and she looks so realistic on the water, well done and thanks for sharing :-))

That's a real beauty  :-)) . Any chance you could post some pic's of the driveline/rudder/prop. I've got a glass hull from Orion Mouldings I plan to start soon.

mark she has a mfa  como drills 540 motor and is running a 4mm shaft and a m4 40mm brass prop. and i am using a push pull wire system on the scale rudder. bit like the aircraft guys use
it is over scale speed but i like a bit in reserve just in case.
i will get some pics of the drive train later to day when im getting her ready to go sailing tomorrow.


ray she sails very well and as you say looks realistic on the water i will get some better pics tomorrow at the lake and post them
but for now here are some of her sailing when she was in primer enjoy
ps i have a short video of her on test sailing but dont know how to post it on mayhem if you would like to see it please pm me amd i will send it to you

Thanks for that Mick - even that short video shows how well she sails. Those vessels really do have good sea-keeping qualities.
Never worked on one but have been out for a few jollies on a couple.  :-))

mark she is not built to any real scale but more to fit on the back seat of my car.
so not sure of the scale maybe some one on mayhem can give an idea
the model is 43in from bow to rudder  and 10 beam

1/12th Northumbrian Coble is 37 x10 inches.
Thats the Hull loa so you are not far off with the rudder shipped
she would add a little.

Mick said his model was 43 inches long.
A 1/12 hull is 37 inches. The ruddergoes over the
transom and adds a couple of inches so Micks
Model is close to 1/12 scale.
