:-)) Some nice shots of strait running boats great fun, also look at the crowd how many of us have seen that many people watching us at the lake,I can remember large crowds at Blackheath when I was a kid in the 50s and 60s when I started building my first boat about 1960 a Keil-Kraft easybuild, can't remember which one but it took ages to cross the pond, after that saved up to buy a Veron Police launch with ED bee diesel, now I was hooked! been at it since......Ray :-)) :-)) :-)) :-)) :-))

.It's a great pity that the two official films of Naviga 75 European championships at Welwyn were never recovered . Naviga 75 was certainly the largest model boat event ever to be held in the UK and never bettered.

Well some of us have to maintain standards! Personally, I would feel positively undressed if I did not appear with a stylish cravat and of course a tuxedo is de rigeur for evening sails. If I want to appear informal I may remove my topper.

Tuxedo, topper with green waist waders
That will certainly impress the laydees

Waders? I leave that sort of thing to my valet - and, if he can afford waders, I must be overpaying him.....
Send for my carriage, will you?

:-)) I know it might seem funny to us but our parents and grandparents were far more formal than we are today,I remember going on holiday with my parents and my dad wore a collar and tie most of the time, the exception to this was when it was really hot then he would take his jacket and tie off and roll this sleeves up,the model boat guys were no different to him and were quite formal even in their leisure time, the only thing that makes us cringe in the film was the amount of smoking with children are about, just shows you how societies norms have changed, still there are some great models and everyone looks to be having fun that's what this hobby is all about........Ray. :-)) :-)) :-))

If I had shown up dressed according to my 'Station', those in the films would have assumed that I was there to clean up after them!

I remember, when saying with my welsh grandparents (Nain & Taid) If we were going out it was school cap and blazer, even to the beach at Nefin.
