Title: Finally got an MTB
Post by: alan cantwell on November 13, 2015, 12:24:49 pm
Now, i am not a builder anymore, i havnt the time, maybe when i retire in 3.5 years time, might be differant, i am mainly an aircraft man but joined Mayhem, because i apreciate the massive skill level that goes into a decent boat build, and enjoy seeing a scale model of anything take shape, so, ive found a ready to sail MTB PT596, at an incredible price,  brand new, not even had fuel in   http://www.superandcheaper.com.au/p/vantex-rc-2.4ghz-pt-596-patrol-torpedo-26cc-petrol-rtr-fibreglass-boat/GL503AP (http://www.superandcheaper.com.au/p/vantex-rc-2.4ghz-pt-596-patrol-torpedo-26cc-petrol-rtr-fibreglass-boat/GL503AP)

Yes, an instant boat, 52" long, 26cc pull start petrol, its a tad toyish, but the detail is very good, i was after a PT109, but this is a decent 2nd place,

This was mine, brand new, unrun, for £152 boxed, and delivered,  shame parcel farce delivered it upside down, and the driver got it out the van, stood it up, with an audible Clunk, removing a lot of the detail, and the front of the bow, still, it will repair, but v annoying,

If itplays, turn the volume down, that motor noise is horrible, i have a much better silencer to fit, be half that row, its for sea use anyway, bunch of friends have IC powerboats, this is much better!

Looks cool  :-))  decent price too  :-)  As you say the engine noise is yukky, maybe you could convert it to electric & get a proper sound system ? Great size too, made me want one  %%  Post some piccys of yours close up etc. Shame the delivery man made you some unneeded work  >:-o

Tried to put piccys on, but ruddy ipad won't play, got a problem with icloud, i will fix the damage, few holes drilled, pins let in, be ok,  not going lekky, i just love engines!  I do have a canister and manifold that will fit, just need 2nd water pick up to cool it,    Price was great, guy bought it for his grandkids, way down south, never even put fuel in it!  Could not believe it when i spotted it, £100 was the asking price, box cost £22, parcel farce was £35,    who needs ebay!

There are enough builds of plastic kits on here,  O0 mines just stuck together, no longer have anything to do with Wilson, apart from being a friend,    :-))
