Title: Part works Millenium Falcon
Post by: wbeedie on November 15, 2015, 03:41:58 pm
I have been collecting this mag for a while now, upto issue 41 so far and thought I would post some pics of this ship here, the build itself has been easier then the Hood I started, a bit sturdier than wood as it's a Plastic/metal kit and all the lighting is supplied. Only problem is I think I still have to get another 59 issues so looking at January 2017 before I have all the parts (https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xap1/v/t1.0-0/p240x240/19299_800877686644797_6318229245568612694_n.jpg?oh=986e0be97d520ee2b8bf4d7e37a8895c&oe=56E997E8)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/19299_800877689978130_1380185365113861387_n.jpg?oh=a54ac4206b120bbe63414e02534e20f0&oe=56EDC482)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpa1/v/t1.0-9/19299_800877693311463_7070564502819902237_n.jpg?oh=8a9f77da8e972056a4765b50a570ffb0&oe=56AC7F73)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/t31.0-8/10984521_800877696644796_7202475683950107201_o.jpg)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/t31.0-8/10984521_800877699978129_1923750020085906889_o.jpg)(https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xtp1/v/t1.0-9/12143303_930173753715189_3099293759831547743_n.jpg?oh=ab0755f58887f18b3b7ccd95f4604325&oe=56B600DF&__gda__=1454346985_99b88e115e90b06a6836b042ce7e19c4)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xpt1/v/t1.0-9/12074552_930175227048375_4820381209364105016_n.jpg?oh=2114b5481e992f859d9b572fdae82b8b&oe=56BEE127)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xfp1/v/t1.0-9/12243453_948434771889087_8546065918365359271_n.jpg?oh=24e272a2a86f7c2e9001599e14c6df23&oe=56AD31F8)(https://scontent-lhr3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xaf1/t31.0-8/s960x960/12238381_948435021889062_2061401580783659691_o.jpg)

Yes Umi, 100 issues at 8.99 an issue, from De Agostini, but parts are really well constructed and painted, all lighting supplied so apart from a sound generator for noises, all you need, and instructions are real easy to follow, even I havent messed this one up pmsl, although they have sent out a new cockpit shell to replace the one already fitted but thankfully never glued that on yet as going to weather the kit a bit inside and out

Interesting, the De Agostini website lists the price as $59/month for 25 months.
Are you getting more magazines than once a month?(100 issues)
I love the framing, is that one issue?  :-))

Very nice.  :-))

I have looked at the new one they are advertising, the 1:8 scale Ford Mustang GT500 but not sure I can justify the cost seeing as I've just bought a lifeboat kit. Very tempting though....

Craig.

How are you getting on with the falcon?
Title: Re: Part works Millenium Falcon
Post by: wbeedie on February 24, 2016, 04:27:56 pm
Yes, I have done another 8 issues worth, not a lot to see yet some frames for upper hull, and some black arts lol
1) Upper hull frames from above
2)Upper Hull from below, with battery pack installed
3)Ramp lowered and lighting
4)Beginning of spaghetti junction, the electric board and wires to ramp, cockpit, lower gun bay, ramp motor and ramp light
5)Lower gun bay lit up, was awkward to try and hole balanced and take picture, this hasnt been affixed yet so couldnt just flip it over and take photos
6)Cockpit lit up and in rough positions, think another wire is used here as very tight from board to lights
to do yet, I have to get myself a minature paintgun/compressor set and about 15 different colours to paint this up yet but that willl hopefully arrive in next few weeks finances allowing

Very nice! I love the framework. It almost calls out for an uber diorama showing her under construction in the factory.

Not much to show for twelve more issues really, still to do some detailing but finished framework for top of the falcon and fitted the plates that I have, cant believe the room that 3 months worth of magazines took up in cupboard and in my parts box

Almost there now, this is up to issue 93 now, upper and lower hull parts joined together, still have some hull detailing and the sides to finish, but been a nice build, and strong as well, would hate to guess the weight, but a wall bracket is the final free gift so thinking about mounting it in my sons bedroom
