Title: ww 2 landing craft Plans?
Post by: smartie59 on November 17, 2015, 08:13:50 pm
Hi all, I am looking for plans to build a D day landing craft, period set of plans that I could build from plaster card, fibreglass, balsa or ply.
I would like to have scale set of plans to make it as close to the real thing as I can . I am not in a hurry to get it completed rather make it look and sail correctly .
I have seen traplan and hobby craft not sure the layout of the plans give multiple Planes?
Any help would be gratefully received . Thanks for reading.

Any chance of narrowing the choice down a little?  There were many different landing craft used during D Day and it would help if you specified a nationality too!

Did you see the LCT 5 plan on the Traplet site?  (I don't get any royalties!)

It has templates for the hull parts and is intended for plastic card in 1/72nd but would probably work well if enlarged to 1/48th and built with thin ply.

Combine that with some of the recently released Tamiya 1/48th scale armoured vehicles and you could have a nice model!

Floating Drydock has a lot of US ship plans, and some "Builders" plans for a variety of naval vessels.
