Title: Humbrol discontinued colours
Post by: Norseman on November 28, 2015, 08:30:05 pm
Hi guys

Well during a shed tidy I came across a forgotten Trumpeter 1/350 Warspite kit.  I have never done a plastic warship but as I'm currently fairly incapacitated I thought I might as well tackle it - maybe even try a very compact winter dockside diorama.

Anyway a list was despatched to the local model shop but they didn't have the Humbrol 146 IJN Gray or 177 Hull Red, and said they were discontinued with the shop having no equivalent for sale. So does anyone have an old Humbrol colour chart / suggestion?

Humbrol's site 143 search came back with 133 Brown Satin
Humbrol's site 177 search came back with163 Dark Green Satin
Neither sounds very near the mark and I think the shop only does Humbrol so for a while I'm stuck.

Another thing is I was expecting the other colour numbers would be Matt but 5,9,15 were gloss with 163, 164, 167 satin. Shiny battleships?

Regards Dave
