Title: 1860 HMS Warrior
Post by: stevebo on November 30, 2015, 01:14:03 pm
Hi. I have a hankering to scratchbuild HMS Warrior after visiting her in Portsmouth Historic Dockyard, but cannot find any trace of plans anywhere. For such an important vessel, I find this a bit odd. Does anyone know of any?

You will probably have noticed William Mowll's model in the adjacent building. This was the subject of a book which was in turn based upon his long running series in Model Boats magazine. The book does contain drawings but I'm not sure what is covered.

Lambert's book is also well thought of:

There is a comprehensive set of plans held by the National Maritime Museum if you have deep pockets!

If you want to go down the kit route I think Billings does a pretty good kit, not cheap though.
