Title: R.I.P. Barry Schofield
Post by: BFSMP on January 06, 2016, 01:47:50 pm
I have been asked to pass this message on.

Jim.

"Barry Schofield was a member of Fleetwood Yacht and Power Boat Club for a number of years and could always be found sailing is beautiful schooners on a Wednesday afternoon at Fleetwood lake.

He was a beautiful modeller with a fantastic attention to detail and finish.

Most of all though he was a good all round egg, with a very dry sense of humour, never a bad word to say about anyone else and great at self deprecating, which he took great joy in doing.

Last summer he was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease, and although he bore this very stoically he would tell me he  fancied getting "one of those boxes" that the geezer we all know has.

Sadly Barry died on December 14th, but he will be remembered by many, especially myself who found those incredibly funny Wednesday afternoon squabbles between sailors a great relief when I had Barry to talk to.

R.I.P. Barry and may , where ever you have gone to, your scalpels be always sharp and your cyano never run dry.

Best wishes old friend.

Neil. "
