Title: Here's a question
Post by: Brian60 on January 15, 2016, 09:55:46 pm
I saw this photo today and it reminded me of a question I've always wondered about. What is all that rigging for on the foremast? Between the masts yep radio gear, and there are side stays for the masts, but what are all the vertical lines for?

Flag halyards for signalling I think you will find.

I can imagine her in that condition after having returned from duffing Scharnhorst and Gneisenau up at the Falklands:O)

Gorgeous model.

Thank you for that picture.  I have a 1/96 HMS Kent half built, and this will greatly help when I come to the rigging.  I have a similar signals flags set-up on my HMS Skirmisher.

Here is what I dd on my Walke model.  I found the flags on the internet, did a print out and then scanned and reduced to correct size, cut and mounted.  It worked I think.
