Title: Aerosol Mixing.
Post by: tonyH on February 16, 2016, 07:21:34 pm
Good Evening All,

Does anyone know whether Halfords will mix paints to a RAL reference?

I appreciate that the question has probably been on before but if Halfords don't can anyone recommend a decent alternative?

Thanks

TonyH

not sure it can do a Aerosol can but B&Q can/will scan your colour and then the computer makes you up a mix £15Lt for waterbased £18Lt for oil base.

Thanks all for the comparison sites but I'm using RAL references from www.german-navy,tripod.com/German_Paint1.gif which may be semi-official and it might be apt to use them if I can.

There are a number of sources of RAL aerosols on the web and it's more a case of whether anyone has used them and with what results.

Thanks again,

Tony

Try your yellow pages. There are a number of national chain automotive paint suppliers. They have the ability to mix up paint to supplied numbers, they may also be able to make it up into rattle cans for you, but I would imagine that won't be cheap. Bodyshop Supplies is one of them, they have a branch in Hull that used to make up spray cans but its been quite a few years since I was in there.

I've just noticed a misplaced comma in the site but it still doesnt' work so here's the item I'm working from.

I'm going to try a local source as a test run and will report further but if anyone has actually used one of the on-line sources I'd be grateful.

Thanks

Tony
