Any modified acrylic will work well.

I like deluxe materials super crylic, which is nice and goopy. If you want to thicken it, you can mix it with some glass strands or carbon fire granules.

The bond is stronger than the materials.

UHU every time stabalit to costly. Adhesives been used in the construction industry are now been used by model builders and I have used the on some of my builds with no problems and far cheaper.

Uhu and Stabilit are both modified acrylic adhesives. There are different formulations out there for different applications, and some work better for some tasks than others.

I like Super Crylic as it comes in a form a bit like a runny epoxy, so it's easy to mix in small quantities. I've heard good things about Devcon Plastic welder, which is also modified acylic. Starloc adhesives also do a range, and they seem to be very competitively priced too.

Last year when I wanted to bond plasticard to a plywood sub deck the suggestion was UHU acrylic.

In the end I gave up on it. Having to measure out those little beads and then mix into the adhesive and then spread evenly, what a messing around but I persevered. Apparently the beads are to give an even spacing over the area covered by the adhesive when the surfaces are brought together. I followed the instructions religously as I had never used it before, what a result - after 24 hours the plasticard was curled along the edges and pulling on it the plastic just peeled off the plywood.

Now this is just my experience, as others have said it works for them. I turned to using EvoStik original, not the water based one. The solvent in this contact adhesive partially dissolves the plastic surface giving it a decent 'key' that then bonded well to the plywood.
