When is a mast not a mast, when is a vent not a vent and a funnel not a funnel?

I'll give the answer later if nobody gets it first.

Naaa! Rioja Blanco is ok but I prefer a nice Crianza myself.

OK so nobody wants to play the game so here's the answer...

They are not masts, vents or funnels when they are a King post!

When nothing is attached to said items then they are known as masts, vents or funnels. However if they have the capacity to lift items of cargo via a boom and tackle arrangement then they are known as King posts.

I don't think its going to change anything for anybody, unless you are sitting a Masters certificate! A funnel will always be a funnel and a mast will always be a mast, regardless of what is attached to it. :D

1 Mast - the edible seed of the Beech tree.
2 Vent - colloquial term for a ventriloquist.
3 Funnel - a device to aid pouring a liquid into a smaller recepticle.

Even on a warhip where the mast also privides pivot pints for derricks?

Hm, interseting.

Actually a King post is the main upright member in a King truss, as is also a Queen post as in a Queen truss.
However a funnel is funnel and a vent is a vent. {:-{ {:-{ {:-{

Pints for Derricks, that's a bit unfair, only Derrick getting one.
