GMC Tools, have gone to their website
http://www.gmctools.com/en-GB
and sent two email contacts from the site, using the contact us format, but have received no response.
Have not been able to find an Australian contact, even though there was a GMC Australia, selling their tools through Bunnings, a large local hardware chain.
Has anyone any knowledge if they are still in business, and, or a current email address.

Cannot really help with the GMC side, however understood Bunning's dissolved their relationship with GMC and released the OZITO range which is reportedly actually part owned by the Westfarmers Group [ Bunning's]
Would suggest any GMC product from Bunning's that is out of warranty is only fit to the bin if it cannot be home/botch repaired
Son in law, purchased an OZITO combination pull across table saw [1000W]......it had one plastic handled wing nut missing....their response was...''no worries...just bring it back & collect another brand new saw in an un opened box"..........

As far as I can discover, GMC tools are no longer sold in Australia, and haven't been for a number of years. I went to their web site and can only find overseas stockists. As Derek said, Bunnings have the Ozito brand as their budget range, and for the handyman they seem to be good value. I have an Ozito slide compound saw which has been great.
For those of you in the UK, Bunnings, the major home improvement chain in Australia, have taken over Homebase's 265 stores in the UK and Ireland, and will be re-branding them as Bunnings over the next 5 years. That's good news for Aussies visiting the UK, as they will still be able to get their Bunnings fix while over there {-)

Yes Bunnings are very good with their warranty.
Bought a Makita keyless battery drill.
Took it back under warranty, clutch was slipping, they gave me a new one, as well as the old one. Said it would go in the bin, so took it for the extra two batteries.
Back to GMC, have their small bandsaw which needs a new "rubber ring" for the drive pulley. Original has split, no longer a circle and cant rejoin it.
If I am unable to contact GMC, which seems to be the case, then will have to look locally for a "rubber ring" replacement.

Our vicar has limited his wife's (the handyperson in the family) trips to Bunnings as she goes there more often than to church. {-)

Our local Homebase is mostly paint, new kitchens and bathrooms. DIY tools and material are stuck in a small darkish corner. Forget sausage sandwich; over priced coffee in a cardboard cup is the order of the day :((

A suggestion for RAAArtyGunner
I used to have a Sutton 3 wheel bandsaw and it had a rubber insert belt on the aluminium drive pulley, which over time stretched and cracked. Couldn't buy replacements, so I cut the belt and superglued it back together as a nice stretch fit, and it lasted for years!
Eventually replaced it with a Hare and Forbes 2 wheel unit which must be a good one, as it didn't, and still doesn't, vibrate itself silly like I was told it would! Still going strong years later!

Mate would attempt to glue it back together but no can do.
As you say, it is an aluminium pulley with rubber insert. The GMC is a nice 150mm, two wheel job, nice and light for hobby work.
Seeing that GMC aren't acknowledging, next step is to look around for belt suppliers and go from there

I have a record 3 wheel bandsaw no longer made, the style was adopted by many tool suppliers but nobody makes a generic any more. On mine I'd let the belt wear slack, then one day while cutting a sheet of brass the blade jammed. By the time I hit the stop switch the band had melted the teeth off the drive pulley which was plastic.
I managed to source a new pulley and several drive bands from the above site.

I always thought RS were trade not retail, so any good glues recommended for sticking 'cut' rubber together from Loctite?, just a thought, or an alternative rubber band supplier %)

Probably Derek, it wouldn't be the weekend at Bunnings without a sausage sizzle :-) You can add K Mart and Target to that list of Wesfarmers owned companies, although there's talk of K Mart and Target merging.
