i have installed a p94 dual esc to control the two T12 motors in my tug.
Both motors are spinning in the same direction and when I go astern, only the starboard motor changes direction.
The esc is set in mode 3 with no rudder input.
If I set the esc to mode 4, there is no difference, the port motor still does not change direction.

This sounds like either a solder bridge somewhere around the relay contact poles or it's a faulty relay. If the unit is still under warranty then contact Component Shop. If it isn't then PM me and we can arrange test and repair ('cos it's me what does 'em for CompShop). If you could send me a close-up photo of the underneath of the board then I can have a look-see for solder bridges. I'll PM my E-Mail address to you.

Hi Dave,
Thanks for the prompt reply.
The esc is a new unit, so is in warranty.
I may be mistaken, but I am fairly sure it was working correctly yesterday when first installed.
I will check the underside of the board as you suggest and report back.
Cheers,
Simon

Photo sent Dave.
Thanks,

PM sent. If it was working then the implication is that either some component has died in the interim (unlikely) or that somehow you've managed to weld the relay contacts shut. It can be sorted either way.

Thanks Dave,
I have tried again with the photo.
I suspect that it is a fault with the relay but am not sure why it should have welded the contacts.
Other than the non reversal of the port motor, everything seems to function as it should.

Send it back; request a refund - then buy a new one at the offer price of £60. 8) http://www.componentshop.co.uk/ (http://www.componentshop.co.uk/)

Sounds like a plan Dave.
