A few months ago I gave a member in our club a yacht as he wanted to have a go. I told him it needed a total refurbished, which he duly undertook. He has made an excellent job of her and is waiting for better weather to sail her for the first time.
A few weeks ago when he told me she was ready, I took my old TT Victoria down to teach him the basics. He had her for 2 hours and loved every minute of it. He has sailed her every weekend since as well.
Today I thought I would treat him and take the Robbe Atlantis down for him to have a go with. The last time she was sailed was September at Black Park regatta. I didn't sail her much but other people did as usual. I thought I would check the electrics. ..... opened her up to find she was half full of water!
It could only of happened at Black Park. I emptied out 2 liters of water from her. Most of the wood platform inside of her is done with mould and the receiver is corroded. I've cleaned her up as much as possible and put loads of silicon pouches in her to help her dry out plus a container of cat litter (a good cheap absorbant ). The receiver has been dried and stuck in a box of rice for good measure for a few days.
Moral of this story........always check inside your boats before putting them into winter storage. ...looks like I'm going to have to take the old wooden platform out and replace it with a new acylic one!
This does not bode well for her appearance at Mayhem!

Oh Klunk, what are we going to do with you %) I expect that you would have checked and prepped her but perhaps got distracted by someone or something and forgot. It does happen {:-{

That would be a shock to find, and a downer for sure. I hope you get it all sorted.
Cheers
