hi all
here are a few pics of police boat i had for few years a friend is in process of putting her back on water for 1st time in like year and half,
i am looking for abit of advice, im thinking of adding the yellow blue decals on side like police cars / boats have, not sure if they look right or even put police on side of the hull?
-
Some do have the chequer as a wraparound on the main superstructure.
Plenty of pics on Google.
Nice model, but please put the ensign aft and not on the Jackstaff %)

thats how it came, just adding siren and engine sound,
anything else i not touched, but is it worth putting the chequer on or leave it how it is, aft? jackstaff?
-
The 'Jackstaff' is the the flagpole in the bow (front), it is where the 'Union Jack' is flown, the 'ensign' is the
flag you currently have on this pole, it should be flown from a pole at the stern (aft, back), or can be flown from
the mast on top of the superstructure (deckhouse).

i seen few models of them

I am in the procees of turning a models by design "Interceptor 42" into a police boat and have gone for the full livery of battenburg and chevron markings together with Police signs and badges.
Happy with the outcome so far. Police vehicles also have roof markings to identify them to helicopter crew. As I add more markings I will post more pictures.

Is she a robbe sylt?
-
would they look good on mine above or not ?
-
Looking at the pics of your boat I think I would stay away from any kind of battenburg markings mainly because I don't think the superstructure has the space to apply them in a realistic way.

Your boat looks great as it is Smudger, besides, if you bling it up with dayglow stuff, it might frighten the swans. :-))
-
The portholes and handrails would make it very
awkward to apply neatly and she looks great as she is. :-))

thank you all very much for your advice, i will keep it how it is :-) or would you add police on side of the hull even tho small police sign each side of the superstructure
-

In 1908 it was decided by parliament that the terms Union Flag and Union Jack are both correct and interchangeable.

Sorry but naval shipbuilder here and like to stay with tradition . Parliament make so many bad decisions and that proves it lol

I know its a bit late but if you are still looking for the blue and yellow battenburg as well as the lettering and police logos, try contacting Ian Folkson at iansboats@virginmedia.com
He made all the artwork for my Police Targa patrol boat and has the artwork on his computer..........fantastic!.
Cheers...........Ron

Re the Union Flag, I believe it is only flown on the mainmast when a court martial is in progress, alongside in port. So I`ve been told a few times by seemingly knowledgeable types. :embarrassed:
