Ordered yesterday, delivered today a Turret controller from modelradioworkshop.co.uk .
Servo slow, arc extender and programmable easily. I've connected it to two standard servos through a y lead, and both directly attached turrets swing through more than 180 degrees and slowly.
Centre the controlling stick and the turret stays in any traversed position you leave it in.
Many other controllers available there as well.
Brilliant bit of kit for £12.50 plus 2 postage.
No connection to the business, other than as a well satisfied customer.

I purchased an [£12.50] SJ Servo Slow in OZ for AUD$40.00 & it does function as a servo slow...it only has one adjustment >>:-(...rather small in size & extremely delicate in adjustment rate
To extend the arc of travel I needed a [£12.50] SJ Arc Extender.......none in Australia....it was going to be an indent item @ $AUD80.00
It would appear that the SJ products are designed for the AERO guys with weight being a critical issue as their Servo Slow weighs 4 gm, whereas the P96 ACTion servomorph is 34 gm
With weight nor size being critical issue as an alternate to this I opted for the ACTION P96 combined servo morph @ £14.00 each & APP............ [less critical speed adjustment + fixed centre point] I now have three

Indeed yes Rob, the SJ electronics specific 'Turret Controller' does appear to have 3 x controllable functions & for the same price as 3 individual units??
I simply walked away a few years back when comparing functionality & cost between .....SJ & ACTion............... Derek

12.50 for a turret controller, as per my first post.
I've got a couple of servo morphs as well, just thought I'd try one of them.
I do support action/component shop, have done on many occasions, wish I'd not mentioned buying one now, I'll not mention my sabretooth twin 20 amp ESC/mixer for fear of upsetting someone else !

I think they call it "a frank exchange of views". "Robust discussion" involves fists, feet and flying furniture!
Mike Ridley's Turret Controller looks like an ideal piece of kit for that job, while I think that Alan Bond also makes a very similar one for Technobots. Tim Fawcett (aka The Floating Wombat) designed P96 mainly as a medium for operating the cargo lift in his Gry Maritha. As for the Sabretooth twin ESC well, it was only a matter of time before someone copied the ACTion P94 and added some features to it. P94 has had the market pretty much to itself for eight years - certainly as far as model boats are concerned. The Sabretooth seems to have been aimed at the robot makers and looks to have undergone a few upgrades itself (mainly in the current-handling area).
Whether or not Component Shop/Wombat rise to the challenge of a Mk 2 P94 is a matter of wait-and-see. I have no privileged information and only a passing interest these days.

Perhaps I should have added that the tooth thing is in a 1/6 model tank, the current build boat will have a P94 !

The Technobots turret controller is a build-it-yourself-on-veroboard affair, Technobots supplying the pre-programmed microcontroller chip - the cheapest solution if you have the skills.
