Title: Scroll Saw

Hi all , I'm on the look out for a new scroll saw , has anyone any recommendations?
I was thinking about a proxxon one either the  2-speed scroll saw DS 460 at £ 346 or the Two speed Scroll Saw DSH at £ 190 .
Can anyone tell me is the dearer one worth the extra money ? Or do any of you have one of these and are they  a good job ?

I have the Proxxon (460). Solid, reliable and a joy to use, but - perhaps - it's a bit of an extravagance for the amount of work it sees from me. Possibly a cheaper one would have been enough. That said, it's great having a well-built one 'available' for all those scroll saw jobs.

Thanks Andy , keep getting drawn to the dearer of the two but as you say would it get the work for the money it is ?
I made the mistake a few years back and bought a Titan one for £60 , might as well have thrown the money in the tide !!
I'll have to make my mind up soon as I could do with one at the moment . Started a little scratch build last week .

Never had any issues with anything proxxon
We have a rotary saw, pillar drill and a mini blow torch for soldering and none of them have broken without due to design or quality

I have the Proxxon bandsaw , rotary sander , small circular saw , handheld belt sander and the wood lathe . The only one I have had issue with is the lathe , only used it once when I got it to shape a mast , then got it out to do the same a month or so back and it made a real bad noise . So with it being out of warranty I took it apart for a look and found one of the bolts in the motor loose and the end where there should have been threads not threaded . Threaded it put it together and it seems ok now .
Well it's looking like the 460 then . Like to hear at least one person thinking its s good job .

hi have you looked at a delta machine i have used mine daily for about 12years
    and is as good as new. it uses standard fretsaw blades and is two speed

Hi Scrollsaw no I haven't looked a that make . Where are they sold from and I'll have a peak .
Was planning on ordering this week .
