Post by: BrianB6 on August 23, 2016, 03:07:25 am
A new version of the Oztralian dictionary has been issued.  %% for those of you who might consider coming here on holiday or longer?
Colloquialisms coined by famous faces, and terms originating from pop culture are present, along with iconic foods including battered savs, chocolate crackles, and fairy bread.
Ex-PM Tony Abbott was really quite fantastic in his use of language.
He's credited with realigning some of our Australianisms, such as shirtfront.

The Opposition Leader's travelling mentor, Philip Ruddock, squirmed and the Victorian MP Josh Frydenberg took a few seconds to register what his leader had said'

To really 'speak Oz' you need to end every sentence in a higher pitch of voice .
This only work's if you are an official or wearing a unifoRM  . . .
'THEY' are trying to copy it over here , just not working . . . .  :P
