anyone see the programme with the ship called windsurf


Like a cruise ship with sails


Thought it would be a challenging but beautiful model

yes, couldn't figure how such small sails gave so much thrust, and so directional, everything was driven  - sail deployment etc, I don't think the eco side of it was as efficient as they made out - more of a gimmick.

The sails may well be used and one or more engines running on just over tick over to assist with fuel consumption.

On the other hand maybe not.
But will never be as fast on sails alone.

As I dare say they will have a set leaving time and an arrival time the sails Alone would not be enough to make the boat financial viable.
