Title: Restorations
Post by: Brian60 on August 31, 2016, 10:47:00 am
A new tv series on PBS America - a Sky channel 534.

Last night and repeats over the next two weeks, the series Restorations has featured an 1890's american racing schooner from a pile of rotting timbers to a full restored craft. Watching what looked like a pile of wooden pallets in a storage warehouse be reclaimed and restored back to how it was is quite amazing.

If you like sailing ship of this era its worth watching - Hell its worth watching just for the craftsmanship involved.

The sierra 3 steam train is ok for the engineering involved especially if you like your engines on the big size!

Not watched the Lysander prog, but I remember building an Airfix kit of one when I was a pre-teen kid. I do know they were used extensively for dropping agents behind enemy lines in europe during ww2.
