Title: Seaway7228 (Cop) General about what I do.
Post by: Seaway7228 on September 17, 2016, 12:24:51 pm
Live in HK. particular interest is scratch building vessels I have sailed on at 1:200 scale. I use this scale as it tends to look good and suits my living space. Also errors are not so easily seen {:-{ .

Purchase plans from UK maritime museums and have completed three models Baron Maclay, Rockhampton Star, and Port Nelson the latter being for a colleague and ex cadet on Port Nelson. I am building that vessel PORT NELSON again for myself.. I have four in the pipeline including the first vessel I sailed on which was the orient ORION passenger vessel, Malaysia (ex Hubert) ALMEDA STAR. leaving that till last as practicing on the rest.

Hong Kong has a few good shops but these days most cater for the already build group and plastic models. I buy a lot of materials here but Singapore is better with greater choice.

I have been trying to purchase plans for the nzsc vessel TAUPO which I sailed on when she was the Mandama.. I got so far with Tyne and Wear museum and they were helpful but unfortunately I could nor could the printer I use, open the files - so I had to give up on that direction.

Still looking, there were four or five vessels constructed , another being the WESTMORLAND. If any one reading this can advise where I can find the plans I would be very grateful.

Cheers Cop.
