Title: Lancaster Over the Mersey
Post by: BarryM on September 18, 2016, 02:38:58 pm
I was only just quick enough with my camera to catch this old lady going down-river over the Mersey on the 11th September. Can anyone guess from whence or to where?

saw her the week before, flying over Bolton heading on a curve towards the A580 and probably on to Southport or wherever she was based for the last couple of weeks, accompanied by the two fighters in a V formation at about 500 feet, what a sight.

We had a distant view of the three from our club stand at the Historic Car show being held in the car park at Fairhaven, just across the estuary from Southport.  Later, we saw two Vampires on their way to or from as they flew over our side.
Then on Thursday evening what looked like an Anson came over.

Nice to see her back in the air after the recent engine fire, lads and lasses at BBFM have done it again, keeping her where she belongs, in the air.
