After two years I finally did take the time to build a boat again. I did buy a Nova Scotia style fibreglass hull from a gentleman in New Brunswick (Canada), took some of my picture collection of lobster & fishing boats and started the project. You can see the outcome in the attached pictures. Let me remind you, that the boat is not finished yet. Some of the details, like the interior of the helm and other accessories are still missing. Please feel free to comment and your critic.

Very neat and tidy! :-))

Nice 👍 Shame we can't get it in the uk.

Thanks guys for your kind words. Just to clarify, this is not a kit, I just bought the hull and the rest is my own creation. The hull is made in small numbers by Greg Hiltz. At one time he posted on "RC Groups.com" and I asked him whether he could fabricate one for me and he did.

All in all you have built a very crisp and square model. The rear windows are not quite the same, but most importantly the front windows really do look identical and show that you have endured making the rounded corner to straight edge work very well indeed. I hate this job more than doing rivets!
I think your mast is brilliant and again all the parts are alligned and straight. And the colours are nice.
Top job Wilhelm :-))

Hi ballastanksian,
you are right about the rear windows, sometimes one can not see the forest for the trees.
Thanks.

No worries, your boat is lovely. Bring on the photos of the fittings and completion :-)

Hi,
here is an update. I did add an anchor, a ships bell, a life raft canister, completed the helm and did add a Mtroniks small diesel sound module. The first water test turned out pretty good, except that the bow dipped about 2mm below the water line. I decided to change the paint job as seen in the pictures. This modification should take care of the problem. The boat behaves excellent in the water. Please find attached a few pictures.
Kind Regards

Very nice ship!!! :-))

Hers one I made 26 years ago and it is still going strong. The kit is from Midwest models at a scale of 1/12. Dolls house stuff is just right for detailing also at 1/12 or 1in to the foot

Hi Stan,
your lobster boat is fantastic. This kind of weathering is out of my league.
