Has anybody had problems with using Radio Link systems. Until this year my two transmitters worked like clockwork, but this year they suffered badly from interference to the point that they are now totally unreliable. Admittedly my two were obtained some time ago from Giant Shark, but I suspect my problem is Wi Fi signals from office blocks close proximity, which until recently stood empty. Though other systems seem to work perfectly.

wifi should not interfere, UNLESS it's hi power, and in the UK illigal. worth checking out.

good question, at one time,(long ago), ofcom would come out to check if you reported it. but as far as i know, they charge to come out now. try googling for an RF sniffer, or maybe a wifi signal checker. you should hardly get anything away from a building.

Surely a phone, laptop or tablet computer will tell you if there is a wifi signal

There is a free app for all the main O.S. that shows the signal strength for all A.P.s in range, it's called WiFi Analyzer

Have you tried an 'away' location. ?
It might work better out in the lakeside. ok2

Still one question remains, how come other systems work perfectly, are the new Radio link transmitters improved with software etc compared to the original. I have about 8/10 receivers at home, some new in their packageing, seems a shame to waste them all if Radio Links has a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

First you need to determine what the cause your problem actually is. I have a RadioLink 6 channel system which works OK in my study less than 3 feet from my broadband router. I bought the system about 3 years ago at the Warwick show and have had no problems apart from using it with an old esc and that may have been another problem altogether.
You could have a dry or cracked joint in the TX and the population of the office block could be totally coincidental. Another possibility could be a dodgy aerial connection. As suggested above have you tried it in a different location?
Rereading your OP you appear to have 2 TXs. Do they both react the same?
Do you get the same problem when the office block is empty eg weekends?

Hi Dave, went up the lake this evening, to test something on the tug.
I had already downloaded "WiFi Analyzer" to my phone and checked around the lake, no large wifi signals found that could have caused problems.
Steve did have a small problem with his tug, in that he lost steering at the lower end in the same spot, by the reeds...but mine was flawless again.......don't know what to suggest up there now.

Well thanks everyone for your comments, another full time mayhem member has the same trouble as me and he has virtually ditched his radio link system.
