Title: REPLACEMENT FOR 700 MOTOR
Post by: JIM WORNER on October 30, 2016, 08:02:54 pm
I have a billings THOR with 2 jet drives and no motors!  (fairly slow)  the recommendation is for 700 brushed.
I would like to use brushless, BUT they will need to have 5mm dia shafts.
To save hours of fruitless web search, does anyone know of a suitable motor available in the uk?
This seems similar to other questions on Mayhem, but the shaft diameter is the problem.
Thank you for looking

You will need an adapter ring from here

Brushlesswise, I would use a 1200-1600kv motor around the 1kw range. Hobby King have loads. If your going in runner a 3650-74 will give decent welly. I had a dr mad thrust 3674 on my blue star which is the same jet, I have three in my Moonraker.

Hi Jim
Another Hobbyking motor is the 3648-1450kv , 37mm diameter, 5mm shaft, 3S= 16095 rpm or 4S 21460 rpm, 1600watts.
I have four of these motors and all are good strong motors with a good bit of welly!!!
