Title: prop shafts
Post by: ttony47 on December 14, 2016, 03:45:50 pm
%% Hello  having read a fair amount of logs/blogs on boat building I'm coming to the notion there are no right ways or in deed no wrong ways to building a model boat , just "your way". However I am putting a shopping list togthere for my Gentleman's Runabout and have on the list a 8" 4mm propshaft  , to connect to the motor I believe I need a coupling unit and a 4mm insert to do this could any one confirm I'm on the right lined please.  M any thanks Tony

Hi Tony you will need a universal joint with an insert the same size as your motor shaft and one the size of your prop shaft remember the prop shaft may be plain or threaded if plain file a flat on it for the grub screw..Bill..
