Is there anyone in the uk that makes/produces a bayonet fittings regards Pete

They're only available commercially from Germany. Norbert Bruggen or Engel.
Or machine your own if you have a lathe.

Hi Andy, yes have a lathe also have norberts schematic for the bayonet fitting ,had a look at your video ,good stuff by the way , the fitting is for the norbert bruggen c class which is quite large , Pete

Should be okay, unless you have a truly tiny machine. You don't have to slavishly follow Norbert's published design, you could simplify it quite a bit. A couple of latching points would be sufficient, and you can make these separate from the rest of the assembly if you choose.
The item he shows is a little tricky to machine, as you can't make it to fit, you have to make it to size, and hope it's right. I believe the commercial item uses a CNC machine to make the parts, which makes life easier in this regard.
Personally I'm not a huge fan of bayonet latching. It does look very swish, and of course eliminates the need for additional securing devices, but they seem like a bit of a fiddle at the pondside.

I was thinking about this fitting BUT to be honest, I don`t remember ever seeing one up close. IS there any chance someone could post a link to the video OR plan of how to make it? I would like to see it and I have a larger metal lathe, would like to see how hard it would be to make one for myself.

You CAN simplify the design and still get good results. My humble efforts show the approach I use in all my subs:

That looks like a radial hull seal rather than a bayonet latching seal.
A lot easier to machine, same principle as making endcaps for cylinders, but it won't be self latching.

There's a technical drawing of a bayonet ring on page 38 of the 'Model submarine technology' book.
If you're competent in the use of machine tools, you should be able to deduce from that drawing what is required to make the parts. It's an intermediate machining task.
If you can't do that, I would suggest you cut your teeth on something simpler first.
I've attached an image of one of these kinds of bayonet rings which can be found on modelluboot.de website.
There are some other methods, based on bayonet latching which are simpler and easier to implement. Specifically it's worth looking at the Skipjack page on modeluboot.de and also the instruction manual for the Delta submersible at that site. Both these boats have latching, but without the machining aspects.
I prefer to make basic radial ring, and secure with a set screw.
