Title: filler

I want to do a job and needed some filler and so went to a local car parts and accessories shop to buy a tin.

When I bought it from the shelf of fillers which were marked as polyester filler, I picked the one photographed up.
But it says on the tin fibrofill.

I have used the normal p38 types before, but am wondering whether this is different to p38 and will it sand down smooth like that I have used before, or should I return for a swap.

That will be the same as the P40 type which contrains glass strands and is used for bridging 'big' holes.

It is normally finished off by coating with the smooth P38 type.

Has anyone used P40 or its derivitives to clad a model ship's hull rather than using GRP matting/cloth?

I wonder if there would be a problem in controlling the direction of the strands and thus the strength of the coating.
