Title: Working Radar screen sweep screen
Post by: destroyer42 on January 23, 2017, 06:24:50 pm
Hi All,
Anyone have any idea how I could make a radar screen with a working sweep mode on it?
I recall the old JJc stuff had one, but that stuff is a rare as hens teeth.

I do not recall JJC offering something like that.
About that time, I was looking at key chain digital photo albums.
I was hoping I could load a animated GIF, and let it run on the display.
However, the key chain fobs were not that sophisticated at the time.

It might be possible now, using the same style of fobs, but you may find that
it needs a small computer and display, such as the Raspberry Pi, and a hacked
LCD screen from the key fob.

The old school way would be to project light through a radar image printed on acetate, and
have a gear motor turning an over/underlay with the sweep, all layered in a display frame.
