Would the planet receiver be adversely affected if it was positioned next to servo?

Hi Glynn: Being close to a servo should not adversely affect a Planet receiver, however it is always best to site the Rx well away from all possible causes of interference, especially the ESC.
Most ideal positioning for best range and reception would be high in the superstructure with the aerial wire pointing upwards.

Under the deck & horizontal works for me , the motor(s) & the ESC's are the most likely to cause any interference , in the superstructure's OK , but you'll need to disconnect the cables if it's a removable piece , anywhere were the fragile aerial can't be knocked easily will be good , if it's dry where you want to place it Velcro will hold it satisfactorily .

No need to disconnect wiring to mount the Rx inside the superstructure, Velcro it vertically to a wood or plastic bracket in the hull. The further away from the waterline the better the long distance reception. I can sail over 250m across our lake with no problem. At this range the ship can get hard to see though.
It should also be noted to avoid making the superstructure in alloy etc as this can mask the reception.

When I converted this from a static Amalfi to rc there was not much room for anything. Everything is squeezed on top of everything else. The Plant receiver seems to work ok. Graham.
