Title: New radio?
Post by: Martin (Admin) on March 29, 2017, 10:22:03 am

Via email to Mayhem...

I was given your detail by a Model Shop. I took up modelling in 1989 after a accident at work. I have built several models which I take pride in as I had never done this before only in the way of plastic models. The pride of my models is a model container boat built from scratch to my own design.

I now have a problem with sailing some of my models, I have them all on the 925 FM & AM. I have the problem that I have mislaid 925 am transmitter crystal & I was wondering if anyone could help me in any way. Should I have to replace the receivers on these models I am looking at buying seven new ones plus transmitter. I am willing to buy the crystals or if someone has any am they wish to sell two or three sets would do.

Thanks again,

Dave - Lowestoft Model Boat Club

Hi Dave,

Ripmax list a channel 92 Tx AM crystal (40.925Mhz AM)

http://www2.ripmax.net/Item.aspx?ItemID=P-CT40A/92&Category=060-070-030 (http://www2.ripmax.net/Item.aspx?ItemID=P-CT40A/92&Category=060-070-030)

These are getting much harder to find now so grab one while you can.

Hope this helps solve your problem.

Regards.

Sandy.

Hi Dave I went on to ebay searched for RC crystals up came a lot of 27 Mhtz stuff, choose the first one and visit the shop.  Then search for 40 Mhtz AM and there are lots to choose from at <£4 inc postage.
I have used similar crystals and they were were fine.
regards Roy
