A few years ago I managed to get hold of some Stanley type blades that had a single bevelled edge instead of the usual two. I am coming to the end of the pack and cant for the life of me find any replacements-does anyone have any ideas as to where they might be sourced?
They were very handy for getting an accurate square cut when cutting through planking etc. I do have a large collection of skin graft blades (single bevel and similar in size to a steel 6" rule) to use but they are quite flexible and I know that one day soon I will end up in A&E because of them.
Thanks.

These are best for modelling and 100 lasts a long time.

Thanks for the links, I have spent many a fruitless and frustrating hour hunting for those.
I have never used the safety razor blades before so I think it calls for a box of each to see how I get on. I have nearly finished my first build but my wife is making noises on which model to start when this current build is finished so it looks like I will be able to give both types a good road test in the near future.
Thanks again.

I was surprised by the range of blades that are available, from Stanley, not just blade shapes but also grades of steel.

The type of blade mentioned in one of the links, the two notch, single edge bevel type, is readily available at Bunnings, here in Australia. Now that Bunnings is in the U.K., you might try them, if there's one near you.

Make sure your blade holder is still retractable
I didn't and have just returned from 4 hours in ED having 3 stitches in a cut just above my knee and an anti tet jab. when I knelt on one <:(

The single edge razor blades mentioned above are available in boxs of a 100, on ebay, the holder is intended for scraping not cutting, also the stanley type blades are also available in bulk 100's they are intended for carpet fitters, try buying from a fitters shop etc.

Thanks for the replies and help with this one, my order from Knife Point turned up a few days ago and all is good. Nice clean cuts to the timbers, no lacerated fingers and plenty of blades stashed for the next build or two (if the wife doesn't find them!)
