Anyone going either showing as a group or just visiting the Sumners Ponds model show this year? I went last year just as a visitor and it was a lovely relaxed atmosphere outside in the sun so this year my son and I will be camping for the Friday and Saturday nights (just as visitors again as I've still not found a Model boat club in Brighton)
if your staying there is a great pub with lovely food just a 15 min walk away or the food on-site is very excellent too :-))
If you've not been before give it a go it's a fairly new show 5th year this year and proving to be very popular, lets make it more popular and make sure we don't lose the ONLY Sussex model show left now Brighton's Model World has stopped
I've not heard or seen anyone on here talking about it and I know there are quite a few members from the south on here, just curious to know what clubs people etc are going.

Hi Paul, the orrible red gazebo from the guys at the Crawley club will be there on the Saturday so come and say "hello".

Paul, there is a club in Shoreham, based in that pub along the sea front...the name escapes me now.
Just got it...The Swiss Cottage.

The Portsmouth model boat display team will be there all weekend.
Putting on displays of both tanks and boats, with all flash and bangs we are famous for.

Daleb, it was well worth a visit last year and the surroundings are lovely even for a picnic whilst watching the boats etc....

Re Swiss Cottage MBC I have been a member for the last three years and being in full time retirement I still find it hard to make the week day meetings, I try to make the weekend meetings and some of the shows but it does not always work out,
Just come along to one of the weekend meetings and see how you feel.

Hi Fred, do you know if Swiss cottage are having another open day this year? I came to one I think it was a couple of years ago, very enjoyable day.

Got it, thanks mate, I'll have to pop down one weekend, Nice cold beer on a sunny day sat on the edge of the pond with all the boats, what could be better.
