Title: Microcat question
Post by: chrsjcb on April 25, 2017, 02:47:42 pm
Hi All,

I have a Microcat (i believe MK1) it has a FM 40Mhz crystal and 4 x bilge pumps if that confirms.

The boat has no transmitter - issue number 1.

Issue number 2 - when the previous owner borrowed a transmitter with matching crystal the boat would work to about 5M range and then go into fail safe mode which sounded like it lost signal.

If i get a replacement transmitter with matching crystal, I am concerned I'd have the same problem as the issue may lay with the receiver itself.

Would be a simple replacement however Angling Technics solder the RX onto a custom PCB from what I can tell.

Could a bait boat expert help me out here please?

I know 2.4Ghz conversions exist and I'd need something along the lines of this:

However I have 4 pumps in my boat.....

I'm comfortable soldering, taking it apart and fitting new parts, I just need a little help!

I'll even send you some money via PayPal if I can get this working with your help!

Thanks,

Chris

Needs a complete rewire and rebuid inc new transmitter and receiver ....Personally I would go 2.4 ghz simply as there is no crystal involved...
