Title: Ship Spotting in Argyll
Post by: BarryM on May 17, 2017, 11:07:19 pm

Seen recently off Inveraray, the 'Lady M' reportedly $57 million worth of Russian billionaire expenditure  Abramovitch was recently  in the same locale with his yacht.
Heaven knows what Para Handy would have said to Dougie!

Even oligarchs don't get it all their own way. While I watched a young couple from the yacht landed on the pier evidently intending to walk into town. Unfortunately, the pier is closed at the landward end because of its crumbling state and the two were left nonplussed. I felt rather sorry for them as they looked like crew rather than billionaires.  Similarly a party sent ashore to load seafood from a local merchant had to land on the beach to collect the goods.

Just to keep you alert; what is the car shown in the photo that was parked in the town?

Finally, another pic of the Vital Spark. I'm sure Para was away for a tin  of pent to put a wee gold bead around her.

it looks very much like the up market "kit car" EXCALIBUR.... built by the ROMERO company some years ago, and every one was built to the customer's specs, and no two were the same, apparently.

see here. http://www.romerosportscars.talktalk.net/Excalibur%20Roadster.htm (http://www.romerosportscars.talktalk.net/Excalibur%20Roadster.htm)

I think they also made, as a ready built or build your own  JBA Falcon, which had only slight resemblance to the old MG TD of the 1950's.

It looks like it got it's "lets pretend to be a Mercedes" on but I think it's a Zimmer or some kind of replica kit car.

Damn, pushed the 'Post' button in error!

Aye, you're right and it's a Clenet - or is it? I ask as a quick look-up gave the information that Clenets had steel bodies while this one certainly had GRP wings. Apparently there are cars looking like Clenets and registered as Clenets but which never came from the Clenet factory. Thus is this the real thing or a clone? Have I got my wires crossed? Is the truth out there? Will the aardvarks reach the base of the sacred mountain? Hello, Matron, why are you pulling the screens?
