Title: Old Boy Returns requiring HELP with Sails
Post by: Gids1412 on June 08, 2017, 07:05:00 am
Hi after an absence of 18 months I have returned seeking help. I am in the process of making the Brixham Trawler Leader, this is the first time constructing a sailing vessel. I have a King Max sail winch sw4805-6pa analog 2 x reels turn 5-5-6t. I want to control Main and Mizzen with one reel and Fore sail with the other. I have read and watched several methods and really can not make head or tail from it all !!!, some mention loops and springs and elastic etc.I have attempted to try several ways but each time can't figure it (getting old) !!!l
I think the main/mizzen string/sheet should have a fly string coming off the main string to the Main sail, while the rest of the string goes to the Mizzen. and the other has one string to the Fore. Now these can pull one way only, I then tried elastic for the pull the other way but realise that this is not right.
I hope I have explain this to make sense, please can someone help , at least it will stop the wife saying "you still working on that ?"

PS: I am sorry about  my absence I must update my last thread,
