Yes brings back memories of subliminal advertising which was banned and made illegal.

Looks like they found a new way to implement it.

They are targeting the internet of things, mobiles, cameras, remotes, car systems, sat navs, etc etc etc.  >>:-(  >>:-(  <*<  <*<

All you have to do is use your credit card, or bank card, and your transaction has been tracked.
If you use store discount cards then the tracking of your purchases is even more personalized.

Walmart stores have begun testing face recognition software so that screens around the store can might be able to
prompt you to buy things that match your shopping profile from previous visits.

Samsung makes a refrigerator with cameras inside, so you can check on it while you are at the store, or
it can make a list for you when you are out of something you keep in the refrigerator.

An old story on consumer habits, and Target Stores and tracking....  :o (this is the short version)
Andrew Poles research began with Life changes and shopping habits, and how a move to a college dorm, or
new apartment was a turning point for creating new "life long" shopping patterns.

Tracking is what it is, and what people knowingly, or unknowingly allow.  {:-{

Quote
As Pole told reporter the last time they spoke: “Just wait. We’ll be sending you coupons for things you
 want before you even know you want them.”
