Title: Yet another newcomer
Post by: Topsoil on June 28, 2017, 05:16:11 pm
Gentlemen and presumably Ladies - Greetings,
My name is Pete and I have just started making model boats - by default! I recently constructed a model watermill for an old school friend, he has an outdoor railway that goes around his garden and pond and nine years ago we decided that a watermill would look good at the side of the outlet stream. Well now he has got his mill on Mull and in return I have been presented with two model boat kits that used to belong to his late father but were never made. ( The boxes and plans look ancient, dogeared and faded). I have a Veron Pilot Launch and a Grauper Pegasus lll. The Pilot Launch came with a 12v motor in its box and in the past week I have constructed this model up to the point where it needs electronics and now I have come unstuck! I know that I require the following :- batteries, speed controller, RC 2 channel transmitter and therefore also a receiver, rudder servo and a 35mm prop' plus probably other bits that I have not though about. I have looked at on-line suppliers and web sites and have eventually found Model Boat Mayhem but the model boat world seems very large and rather complicated. Can anyone help, give me some advice and point me in the right direction?  Thank's.

Hello again Pete,

Welcome to the Forum.  We do indeed have all the information you are looking for. Do have a look at all the titles on the main page and search for each item you are interested in.  The electrical section looks to be a good place to start as you will need better details of the boat's  'set up'.  All the best.   :-))
