Title: Fittings Advice
Post by: Drakken on July 05, 2017, 12:26:53 pm
I would like to add a few items to the deck and boat to increase the overall detail but unsure where to start. I have been doing a little bit of research to get an idea but struggling to understand.

I'm guess as a long liner and having an 'Opening' on the side they would haul in the buoy's in with the poles and flags attached ( Sorry for the total simple terms ) so could add a couple into the opening. Also possibly a couple of life belts and tyre fenders to protect the hull.

I've tried a little weathering

Good idea, get on a boat if you can.  It was not until I had been sailing in a good size yacht that all the 'fittings' came to life and had a reason for being there as well as what size and type they were.
Good luck,
Roy

Hi, if it helps, saying that you are a modeller shows a more than passing interest and in my case I have always had a good response.
I was moored near SS Shieldhall a few years ago and talked my way on board and had a viewing with friends.  Don't be shy!
regards Roy

Hi Drakken
you live 8 miles from what was one of the biggest fish quays in the north east no need to go to  Hartlepool to see this type of fishing  boat
