As mentioned on the forum, there is a contest to build a model using one of Glynn Guest's plans, of which there are a large number and variety to choose from.
I have always wanted to build a WW2 Cruiser and as is often the case, the choice of subject was fortuitous for reasons of interest and also colour sheme.

HMS Penelope was completed in 1935 as part of the Arethusa class of 6inch gun cruisers. She suffered damage in action numerous times during WW2 until being sunk by torpedo in 1944 in the Anzio area with heavy loss of life. She survived incredible damage while escorting a convoy to Malta and before that managed to repair damage caused by running aground in Vestfjord (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vestfjorden_%28Norway%29) Norway with the help of Norwegians providing pumping equipment and quantities of feed water for the boilers.
During her time in Skjelfjord (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Skjelfjorden&action=edit&redlink=1) being repaired, she was painted white and brown to blend her into her Fjiord background. The areas of white were overpainted with brown as the snow melted during her month stay in Skjelfjord (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Skjelfjorden&action=edit&redlink=1) !
The plan is available in 1:144th scale, and having obtained a scan from Colin, I have had it enlarged to 1:96th by my local printers as that is my prefferred scale. Therefore, she will be 1609mm long and 160 odd mm beam.
She will be built from hardwoods and ply as she will be bulkier in this scale and so a bit of weight will help get her down to her waterline, and everything but the HA Directors will be scratch built or designed and cast up in pewter such as the Quad .5 inch AA weapons. The HA directors I found on the J.R. Haynes site are gorgeous and need to be included, but they will have scratch built covers.
Enough gibber jabber for now. I will put pictures up as soon as I have whittled some wood.

Personally, I prefer the AA Dido class ( which are lurking in my future! ), but will be looking in and stealing ideas mercilessly..similar hull form and you have to respect a plywood scale up of one of GGs finest designs :-))
