How long is too long that is a good question?
I purchased my Tsekoa in September 1996 at the 50th anniversary of Southend MBC from Dave Metcalf when he was with Model Slipway,
I do have other hulls that are older but I will stick with the Tsekoa for now.
In the twenty-one year’s that I have had this model I have moved three times so some of this time has been setting up new workshop’s, now the “BUT” on the last move Sod’s Law came into play, the wheelhouse and for-deck was damaged so I put her into the loft until some months back when I took pity on her and took her into the garage now come workshop,
O.K just contact Model Slipway and get some replacement part’s, email sent off after, a few day’s I received a reply saying that they were unable to help with replacement parts for the wheelhouse and deck O.K I can understand that as the parts for the wheelhouse are all on different sheets, so a call out to members of this forum and one member did reply and sent me copies of all the parts that I needed.
Wheelhouse put to one side and work started on the deck, after a week a new deck was fitted, still have all the deck fitting’s still to fit.
Now the wheelhouse I started by reveres engineering the wheelhouse and when I had it down to its component parts I then along with the copies I started to rebuild the new wheelhouse.
So is twenty-one years to long ???
When I work out how to resize my photos I will post them.
Thank you for your time

Well even after twenty one years she looks good. I hope you built other ships in the mean time as otherwise you have been the most patient person ever :o

Hi
Well yes I have built a 'T' class submarine , and for the last eleven years I have been on the committee of the Ducati owners club, that did not give me much time for working on boats but a lot of time going to bike events.
Any way I have now more time for boats.

How long is too long? I bought myself an OO gauge loco kit (K's) in 1971 I worked on it now and then, replaced the wheels then made a better chassis, then motors had improved so up dated that then I finished it all ready to run 37 years later.

Check out my build on the POSH Venture. This was actually one of two I had of the Wimpey Seahorse hull from same manufacturer as yours. It went in the lost around 1990 and saw the light of day again a couple years ago when I rebuilt it and it emerged as a completely new ship :}

I've an old solid wood kit of a 1/72 Flower class that's been building in fits and starts since the late 1970s. Has travelled to 6 different house with me. It will probably take me that time again, if I'm still here!

Too long is when the boat isn't finished but you are! :o

Started a Billings Cutty Sark in 1975 when in Cyprus, continued slowly on return. Went into storage in 86 on posting to Gibraltar. Still in storage box in the middle of the garage. As I recall only the running rigging remains to be done. My 29 year old son has never seen it! Need a roundtoit :-))

Fred - I've had the opposite problem, well sort of. I'm into motorbikes as well, mainly Triumphs and have hardly ridden over the last 2 years due to other commitments and DIY.
I'm determined to make up for it this year though and boat building will be my winter pursuit. Have spent a little time sailing an RC yacht this year.
Still working 3 days a week with too many interests and not enough time!
