Title: Triple propeller shaft question
Post by: davejay on September 27, 2017, 06:57:40 pm

May be a silly question and has nothing to do with my current build which has twin props.........but I was wandering when a vessel has a three shaft set up as in some/most coastal force vessels, which direction does the centre prop go, I gather that the outer props generally turn outboard but just curious about the centre one.

Also, in the dim and distant future I'm contemplating building a 1/12th scale Vosper MTB II (works out to about 6ft long by 18" beam)
build will be in wood with self made fittings etc, curious as to how to power the thing using electric power......brushless I guess with lipo's.......back in the day I suppose it would have been car heater motors with 12v power!.............would like to have triple motor set up, hence the first question in this post!

Looking forward to your inputs!

Cheers, Dave

In most coastal forces craft (and landing craft) all the props turned the same way as the engines were not handed.

Love the idea of your Vosper!
