Just saying hi and introducing myself - have been into models since the year dot. started with airfix planes, progressed to Tamiya and their ground breaking Rough Rider r/c car (now 36 years old). Boat wise I have modelled a Wavemaster racing cat and jet-ski, a 1/24 yacht in Michelin colours and embarked on a 10 year build of a Vosper MTB (also 1/24). My 50th is next year, and I have decided on a lifeboat, either a 1/16 Tamar or a 1/12 Shannon - either a kit, complete boat to detail or a stalled / part built kit. So that's me...

Hi mtb36, welcome as well, do you belong to a model boat club?
Many clubs are missing members of your age and if you are not a club member already would welcome you joining them.
As a club Secretary I see the membership just getting older with very few ready to take up the reins to preserve the future existence of model clubs.
All the best, Roy

Never got round to joining a club - used to sail on a good friends private lake, which was fantastic, but he moved and haven't found anywhere as nice - I will put it on the list of things to do.
