Hi to you all,
I live in Southern Ontario, Canada about an hour North of Toronto. I have been building model ships for about 30 years and have gone the gamut from Greek Trireme to the Royal Barge "Gloriana".
My most recent models included;
1/200 BIsmarck (Trumpeter)
1/200 Arizona (Trumpeter)
1/60 HMB Endeavour (Artesania Latina)
1/75 San Felipe (Panart)
1/144 diorama of three Landing Sips (medium) by Revell.
In 2012 I happened to be watching the Royal Jubilee Pageant sail past on the river Thames and fell in love with the boat leading the parade - "Gloriana". I wanted to try to build her from scratch and managed to contact the man responsible - Lord Sterling.
He very graciously arranged for the builder to send me a complete set of plans and in 2014 I finished her. I understand that Lord Sterling is attempting to have a permanent mooring/museum for her on the Thames and I have been advised that my model may be included. So I am waiting to hear from him.
I am currently about to make a temporary 'sea change' and my next build will be a diorama of an US M40 155mm Self-propelled gun.
I very much appreciate the opportunity to reach out to other modellers for tips and advice.

Welcome to the forum, I for one look forward to seeing the progress and updates of your your builds.
Thinking of what to build myself over the winter months so will decide today hopefully.

Hi Mike,
Misplanted canadian here residing in balmy Somerset, England. Welcome aboard, originally from Brantford, but found my way here some years ago, puttering away on this and that, mostly naval, PT 109 on the go now, sail small yachts, walk dogs and generally hide in the shed listening to Planet Rock. Where north of TO are you, good to have another canucklehead on here.
