I know this has been discussed in the passed but I am just about to embark on building a Mantua Bruma. My question to you august peeps is to do with motive power. As I expect you know, the design is for a single motor to drive the 2 props (both RH rotation). The optional motor/gear kit is, it is agreed, both expensive and noisy. Before I go to fitting 2 motors, I wondered if one and using tooth belt drive instead of gears may be an option. Thing is, try as I might, I have not found a supplier for such items on the net. I would welcome any suggestions/advice before I get stuck into the build.
