Can anyone recommend a suitable adhesive to bond clear acrylic sheet sold under the plasticard brand to grp please? I need to glaze the portholes in my hull but I am having trouble getting the stuff to stick, epoxy is of no use, the plastic just peels away from it.

Would cockpit adhesive work perhaps?

Where glue is concerned, if all else fails I always turn to UHU Plus Acrylit (Stabilit express equivalent). Expensive but a little goes a long way and it sticks to almost everything.

I don't think the canopy glue will work due to the relatives roughness of the internal grp surface.
I have some UHU acrylic similar to the Stabilit but wasn't sure it would hold or not. I can always try and stick a piece to to the inner bottom of the hull and try to peel it away after it has time to set up.
The problem with plasticard (or plastic products in general) is that they really need a solvent to hold them.

The cockpit glue is unlikely to be a fully waterproof option. As mentioned previously UHU Plus Acrylit, alternatively Stabilit Express, Devcon Plastic Welder or Deluxe Materials Fusion should fulfill your requirements.

Fusion will for sure but seems like overkill. Unless it’s going to be immersed in water is it really an issue?

One product springs to mind and thats Sticks like XXXX dont know if you can get hold of it or something similar in Spain

I never skimp when sealing up the hull of my models, I don't think there is overkill when completing that part of the build. I may consider Canopy Glue for my flying bridge glazing on my Brave class rebuild, but would use some form of contact glue ( Evostick or UHU POR ) for superstructure glazing, which can easily be poked through with fingers, but the hull, overkill all the way.

Fair do’s :-)) I like fusion very much and used it for a number of jobs
Was extremely strong when attaching my styrene fender shelves to the GRP of my tug.
I have no experience of the other suggestions that are likely every bit as good.
One thing I've learned with fusion is that it's quite easy to scale down the size of a mix and if it starts getting too thick too soon you can just add more liquid and carry on.

How about using a small amount of transparent silicon bath sealant, the type that comes in small aerosol type applicators?

To put things into perspective, The clear plastic supplied to Plasti-card is probably Polyethylene Terethphalate either in the form of APET or PETG and not Acrylic. Personally I'd look at the Epoxy before trying something exotic or expensive. Is it an old epoxy or a cheap "5 minute" glue. make sure that the Epoxy is in it's prime before giving up on it.

Just an update......
I used UHU Acrylit to stick an offcut of the clear acrylic I had to the inside moulding of my grp hull. Two days later I have gone to it and the piece snapped off where the glue began, leaving a piece solidly bonded to the fibreglass. I used a chisel at the edge of the remaining and it did come away but in small chips that snapped off with the chisel. So when it comes to putting the windows in the hull, the UHU acrylit is the way I will do it.
